Famed financial talk show host Dave Ramsey recently commented that the colder months could be a warm time to buy a property.
Ramsey says that the housing market slows down in the winter, but lower competition can benefit buyers. During this time sellers are likely to be motivated to get their houses sold quicker and may be more willing to take aggressive offers.
The reduced competition among buyers can create more opportunities to negotiate, and during this “slower” time lenders and real estate agents can close sales faster than in high-traffic summer months.
